The "C" word and the "L" word....

Today's Post Brought to you by the Letter's

C

and

L

First of all, I Love MG.  I had to tell someone, I can't tell him....so I'm going to tell you guys....

So there's that.....

Um, keep it under your hats though, if I can't tell him, you guys can't tell him either!

and in Medical News....NO CANCER.

Got my biopsy results today....I'm cancer free!  The tissue they tested was top notch tissue!

WHEW!!!!

yeah, that's right, say it with me...WHEW!!!

I can breathe again....between wanting to scream "I LOVE YOU" to my bf and forcing myself to shut my pie hole...and wondering for two weeks if my uninsured ass was going to get diagnosed with Cancer...I've been feeling pretty anxious lately.  Like a gigantic elephant was sitting on my chest.  You never know how much you LOVE to breathe until you feel like you can't!

So to celebrate this week's early on victories.....I bought tickets to the Chicago Bears v. Cleveland Brown's NFL game......MG LOVES Da' Bears!  So i got him seats just behind the bears' benches!  We are going Thursday night.....and we both have Friday off!  Hell i don't go back to work until Wednesday next week!  So, I'm not going to drone on and on about things, just wanted to let you all know....that I'm in love  <3, and I'm going to live long enough to actually get to enjoy it.

Some people pray they win the lottery.....I feel like I have.....just the winnings are that of a different kind.  MG's my jackpot.  Health's my kicker....

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Thanks for all the well wishing through the last couple weeks, it's kept me sane....and ya'll know how INSANE I can get sometimes! lol

Yesterday nearly killed my opinion of Monday's forever....

You know....when you're sitting there....contemplating things like "cancer"....and "test results"....the last thing you need is a big blowout with your boyfriend.....your boyfriend whom you truly believe "hung the moon" you're so crazy about him....

Yesterday, well, it happened.....words were said.....and as I laid there in his bed, saying "you're not seriously mad at me about that are you?  You can't be mad at me about that!"....he made it very clear that he was IN FACT PISSED at me.....

I was so upset, confused, blinded by tears and redheaded suppressed rage....I got up, put my jeans on, shirt on, didn't even button my jeans....jumped into my Harley boots....wild red hair everywhere.....and I did what I do best, I walked out the door.  After the LAST time I tried this tactic with MG, I pretty much never thought I'd tempt fate and try it a second time, but there was NO WAY I was going to be made to feel bad, or punished, because for once, THIS TIME, it wasn't me, I wasn't doing any passive-aggressive bullshit, I hadn't said ANYTHING that should of produced the events of yesterday morning.....so I got the eff outta there.

*sighs*....and boy, while it felt good to storm out of SOMEWHERE....with all the pent up frustration/fear and crap I've been experiencing, MG is absolutely THE LAST person I want to walk away from.  He's my person....he's the one I want....so walking away while therapeutic also felt very, very catastrophic!

It was a shitty day....a fight before six a.m.....news of the death of someone I knew....a murder no less.....working alone as my co-worker was off.....followed by a day of back and forth texts with MG trying to solve our day's "issues"....you know how hard it is to fight AND make up via text message?!  I don't know how kids do it....live their whole lives in text....I miss facial expressions and hand gestures....and frustrated sighs, and pacing....and all those things that go along with having it out in person....Typing frantically on a miniature keyboard....frazzled sitting at your desk at work....trying NOT to cry in front of your clients...is NOT how I would choose to solves my love life issues.

But....in happy news....MG and I did hammer out a resolution we were both comfortable with, but while I thought that would make me feel better, a day of "holding it in" made for a drive home of letting it all out....tears...snot, the whole nine yards....once home, i threw myself in the shower...where I cried some more....likely looked like every rape victim scene where there's a girl crying in the shower with her face smashed against the tiled wall.....mouth open....sobbing.....while it sucked to do, it was such a release, one I must of really needed.....cuz the tears...wow, they were in full force.

Once out of the shower....MG invited me over...but I wasn't ready to see him....I needed some air...the whole day, it was like i couldn't breathe....like an elephant was sitting on my chest...which is great cause I'm sure that means i was probably having some sort of anxiety attack or something....another medical condition I don't need!  So, after work, when I got a text from Crashley asking me if I wanted to grab a drink....I texted back YES PLEASE, IN THE WORST WAY!

We ended up going out to the Delphos Reservoir...

where we sat on the edge of the bank...feet in the water and we de-compressed.

Ever since i was a kid, the one thing that always soothed me when my heart was broken or my head was a wreck, was sitting by water.  I don't know what it is, but it's medicine for my soul....it's heaven on earth in a way that nothing else is for me....

So we sat......and talked....and shared some friendly sarcasm....(Crashley does sarcasm like nobody else I know)...one thing I like about her, she doesn't sugar coat things, and oddly enough, even though I'm a very positive person, she's someone who my positivity mixed with her sarcasm and witty negativity, well it just works for us...*shrugs*...so...after her bad day, and my bad day converged...."just add water" was applied....it was like two wrongs making a right....and my day got better....even though my eyes burned like they had sand in them from all the crying....I felt mostly healed.

I finished the night at MG's....but I didn't stay the night.....instead he kissed me in his front yard....and it was a new kiss, the kind that felt like it had a message....I have no idea what that message was....but his hands on both sides of my face when he did it, well it felt supportive....and after the day I had, supportive is EXACTLY what I needed from him....

So thanks Crashley for yesterday.....

Thanks MG for wanting me enough to work though rough patches....

And thanks to you....whomever you are that might be reading this....why am I thanking you....you ask....well, because there are times, when blind support, even if it's just in virtual presence is comforting.

Sincerely,
~hl~

In Medical News:

Tomorrow...I'm having some minor surgery....

Followed by a minor biopsy....to see if I have cancer....

Which let me tell you, I'm really hoping and praying that I will be writing to you saying "Whew!  I'm fine"....afterwards....

So, while I'm not one to look for sympathy, I AM one to look for prayers/positive thoughts that everything in fact DOES turn out to be fine!

So, thanks in advance...

Medically yours,

Movie Review:

EAT, PRAY, LOVE

Yesterday BFF Steph and I, and her sister Nik went to see "EAT, PRAY, LOVE" ...as Ohio was an absolute oven....sitting in a dark theatre was about the only way to avoid being cooked.

Plus I was avoiding dealing with my own personal relationship drama...and well who am i kidding, I was hiding out....avoiding my life...and drowning out the noise in my head....a dark theater seemed to be the one place, my life wouldn't find me ...

....onto the review....

This movie is NOT exactly what I would call a "chick-flick" per se....ummmm....it's more like just a journey.....will WOMEN relate to this more than men...yes of course...but could it be "got" by both sexes...yes.  Haven't we ALL been on a journey in our lives?  Can we as men and women all relate to praying to God, on our knees when we don't know what to do, begging for a sign, for direction?  There's enough here....that PEOPLE, not just WOMEN or just MEN can relate to.

The scene's in India, when Julia befriends a grumpy unlikely ally "Richard from Texas" {Talented Actor:  Richard Jenkins}....well, they make you believe in the idea that GOD (or whatever you believe in)....puts people in our path....to be our stumbling blocks, to be our guides, our teachers...sent to make us, break us...SHAPE us.....and it makes you really excited AND enlightened...for all those people you've met, and have YET to meet....

This movie is NOT block-buster, best movie you ever seen material....or even jaw dropping scenes where Julie Roberts will blow you off the screen with her acting ability...but it does make you think....

Think about what's important....
Think about how many times in your life, you lost yourself in your relationships....in life...
How many times you took a wrong turn...
How many times you beat yourself up over things you should of forgiven yourself for...

It makes you think about finding peace in your life...

It makes you think about pasta....the way a lover thinks about their mate...*laughs*
...which can be a bad thing for a girl's waiste line, however the topic of "muffintop" is covered in this film....what you'll learn...
BUY A BIGGER PAIR OF JEANS!  Somtimes Life Warrants a bigger pair of jeans!

In the movie, Julia Roberts "Liz" says to her friend who's worried about her weight "has a man ever saw you naked and then left?  When you take your clothes off....has any man just taken one look at you and walked away?"

Julia's friend says "No"

Julia says:  "that's because to him, he's just hit the jackpot, he's in a room with a naked woman!  Muffintop or not, he won't notice!"

I liked that kind of logic....

Julia said that she didn't have any intention of being obese, but she intended on enjoying her pizza! *smiles*....and I <3 THAT kind of logic even MORE!

Oh, how I adore my pizza!

So, in closing, this movie won't change your life....you won't necessarily watch it a million times like Dirty Dancing, Pretty Women and other classics....but it will take you on a journey....you'll want to taste the food, experience the exotic-ness of her travels...and you'll want to examine your OWN life...and see yourself a little more clearly.....

I think a little thought provking self reflection is a good thing...

So I would recommend this, kind of quiet....film........that seems a little bit more like a documentary than a summer blockbuster....

and....don't go hungry to see this one....The Italian portion of the movie will send you running for the concessions....!

Two carbohydrate lovin thumbs up from HeatherLynn.....

Author's Quotes I thought you might like in addition to the movie review:
-------------------------------------------

“You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“As smoking is to the lungs, so is resentment to the soul; even one puff is bad for you.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“Imagine that the universe is a great spinning engine. You want to stay near the core of the thing – right in the hub of the wheel – not out at the edges where all the wild whirling takes place, where you can get frayed and crazy. The hub of calmness – that’s your heart. That’s where God lives within you. So stop looking for answers in the world. Just keep coming back to that center and you’ll always find peace.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“This is a good sign, having a broken heart. It means we have tried for something. “
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“There is so much about my fate that I cannot control, but other things do fall under the jurisdiction. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I can read and eat and study. I can choose how I’m going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life-whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“One thing I do know about intimacy is that there are certain natural laws which govern the sexual experience of two people, and that these laws cannot be budged any more than gravity can be negotiated with. To feel physically comfortable with someone else’s body is not a decision you can make. It has very little to do with how two people think or act or talk or even look. The mysterious magnet is either there, buried somewhere deep behind the sternum, or it is not. When it isn’t there (as I have learned in the past, with heartbreaking clarity) you can no more force it to exist than a surgeon can force a patient’s body to accept a kidney from the wrong donor. My friend Annie says it all comes down to one simple question: “Do you want your belly pressed against this person’s belly forever –or not?”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“I met an old lady once, almost a hundred years old, and she told me, ‘There are only two questions that human beings have ever fought over, all through history. How much do you love me? And Who’s in charge?”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“If I love you, I will carry for you all your pain, I will assume for you all your debts (in every definition of the word), I will protect you from your own insecurity, I will protect upon you all sorts of good qualities that you have never actually cultivated in yourself and I will buy Christmas presents for your entire family. I will give you the sun and the rain, and if they are not available, I will give you a sun check and a rain check. I will give you all this and more, until I get so exhausted and depleted that the only way I can recover my energy is by becoming infatuated with someone else.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it’s wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“We search for happiness everywhere, but we are like Tolstoy’s fabled beggar who spent his life sitting on a pot of gold, under him the whole time. Your treasure–your perfection–is within you already. But to claim it, you must leave the buy commotion of the mind and abandon the desires of the ego and enter into the silence of the heart.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert

“Prayer is a relationship; half the job is mine. If I want transformation, but can’t even be bothered to articulate what, exactly, I’m aiming for, how will it ever occur? Half the benefit of prayer is in the asking itself, in the offering of a clearly posed and well-considered intention. If you don’t have this, all your pleas and desires are boneless, floppy, inert; they swirl at your feet in a cold fog and never lift.”

Tramp Stamp! *laughs* You know you want one!

Well, you see that?  right there....see it?  look close as this picture kinda sucks....but, can you believe I have a tiny little hickey on my neck?!  Right now, as we speak, I'm "marked".....Freaking 32 years old....and I have a hickey! *laughs..blushes...and laughs more*....

There's a heat advisory...one cannot wear a Turtleneck in August in Ohio!

Is it sick and twisted that as hideously unsightly such a thing is....I'm secretly like...I don't know....smitten with my little love mark?  It's small enough not to be obscene, and currently covered by my necklace to where not many people would even know it's there.....but I do, and I can't HELP but to have THE most mischievous smile on the planet on my face today.....

.....A hickey....*shakes head in amazement and embarrassment*.....

TGIF!!!

What I'm Addicted to This Week:

Greetings from the Kitchen:

So you guys, my lovelies...well ya'll have been around long enough to know that I have made some slight miscalculations in the kitchen in the past:

*has a mental montage of my kitchen misteps...*

First there was the time I made rice crispy treats that were as hard as cement blocks.....first batch i stabbed myself in the stomach and bled all over my shirt....{Which btw....I STILL haven't mastered the krispie treats yet!!!}

Then....I made MORE cement block rice crispy treats that nearly broke off MG's teeth when he tried to eat them....*cringes at the thought*....

Then I made that greasy pizza casserole that gave everyone indigestion....

Followed by the time I fucked up hamburgers....yeah, who fucks up hamburgers anyway?  I"ve been making hamburgers since I was old enough to walk.....and now all the sudden, I make them and MG says to me "wow, mine's still mooing!" *slaps myself in the forehead*

So Last night, I was super excited to make something I just had a feeling was going to be my one redeeming meal, the meal that would take me OFF the YOU SUCK IN THE KITCHEN list and maybe put me in the "SHE TRIES"...column.  *shrugs*...I like to keep my sights low, easy to reach your goals that way!

So I decided to make this chicken Alfredo bake concoction that I kinda just thought of making in my head....I wanted rotini noodles, roasted garlic Alfredo sauce, sauteed chicken in olive oil, butter and seasoned with Italian seasonings and bread crumbs to make them golden and crunchy delicious.....spread lovingly over my rotini noodles and sauce, covered with mozz. cheese and then baked just briefly in the oven to make it all oooey gooey delicious....and garlic bread sticks on the side.  Sounds good right?  I thought so.....

So I bought the stuff i figured I'd need....I rushed home...because, well, MG's a hard workin man and he gets hungry, so I wanted to make sure there was something in his belly as quickly as I could manage it...so Roommate and I conversed about his dramatic life, while I chopped up the chicken, sauteed it in the new skillet I bought just for such a sauteing situation....and I was thrilled at how well this meal preparation was going, I felt like effin Emeril on my kitchen....I was stoked to say the least!

I put it all together, it looked MOUTHWATERING GOOD....not like, "eh, good"....but it looked like the stuff of cookbooks....*smiles proudly*

FINALLY, FINALLY i was going to have something to offer my mate that he wouldn't have to pretend to like!

So when I pulled everything out of the oven and asked him if he was coming to me, or if it was bringing it to him....and he didn't answer....I was like...ummmmm....what the heck?

So when my text went unanswered, I called....he answered.....and when i asked him what he was up to, he said he was knee deep in a Harley....and I said, "so now would be a bad time to tell you dinner's ready?"  He explained that he put the Harley on Craigslist and that he had a ton of calls today and how he needed to finish working on it so it'd be ready to sell and such...and I went from beaming with kitchen pride, to deflated and wanting to crawl into bed and throw all my hard work in the trash. *sighs*.....I know, dramatic right?!

He tells me he'll come eat, but it won't be til later.....I look at my breadsticks....all golden and soft and perfect.....and I just grimaced.  "The cooking Gods must hate me!" I thought to myself as I covered them with aluminum foil.

He says "You mad at me?"  I say:  "No."  He says, "Depressed?"
I lie and say "No."....he says "Don't lie to me, you are something!  I can tell!"....
I say "I'm fine..." (don't you LOVE when women say they're fine?)...
He says, Ok, I'll be over later then...
I say "ok bye"

Ten minutes later.....I'm in my pj's....in bed, just about to start watching "We are Marshall"....and my phone rings...his familiar ringtone...I say "Hello"...which even my Hello sounded funny.....and if I could hear it, I was certain he could too!
He says "what are you doing?"
I say: "nothing"....
he says, "are you mad at me?"
I again say "No."....which honestly, I wasn't mad, i know shit comes up, i was just really dejected.....so anyway,
he says then "well, I'm really not about to make you happy then"....
I say "and why's that?"
He says "the guys are coming to pick up my truck bed....I can't really leave...."
I say "oh"....with less enthusiasm than he's used to hearing from me...
He says "maybe you could just bring it over here....?"
I say, "sure, ok, i'll bring it to you"
He says "I'll make it up to you, I promise"...
I hang up

I pack up.

I drive over....

about 45 minutes later....

He and I, sitting at a table....food's still piping hot thanks to my travel pyrex pan and thermal travel bag, however, it's overcooked.  My perfect creamy white sauce is now a sticky imperfect paste....taking a bite of the breadsticks was like trying to gnaw on a rawhide bone.....and once more I feel the need to apologize for my disaster of a dinner.....I was so bummed, even my arms felt heavy.....which to be honest, matched my heart.

Naturally, MG being the beautiful man that he is, says "mmmmmm...it's so good...." as he nearly loses a molar on the breadstick he's trying to chew....I can't even look at him....I say "yeah, sure.."....absolutely in defeat....He's like, "No really, it's really good....breadsticks are a little chewy, but I'm sure that's my fault, not yours...."

I was pretty pouty the rest of the night.....and I could tell he was a little nervous as to whether I was going to snap and rip his head off or something.....but after dinner, I retreated to the yard swing to read my book while he finished working on the bike....

The night turned out alright.....after it was all said and done, we sat on the swing, watching falling stars / meteors in the big clear sky....I think we saw close to ten of them.....wishes were made......and once more, after a long day, I went to bed with the man whom I adore more than any other being on the planet....even when he ruins my dinner....

Was it a perfect day....no....so few ever are...
Was my reputation in the kitchen restored....depends on where you think I started out....*laughs*
Would I trade my day that didn't work out like I had planned with him for a perfect day with anyone else...?

Nope!

New Products I am Diggin

I've been using Covergirl GC Smoothers Foundation for Years...I mean, as far back as I can remember...it's been my Foundation of Choice.....

Until Now....

I've switched!  Yep, I sure did!  One of the coolest things about having sisters and girlfriends, is that everyone is always trying new products, be it shampoo, make up, perfumes, lotions....hair straighteners, frizz fighters, face creams etc., and when someone finds something they like, they LOVE to share that information with their girlfriends/sisters....in hopes of bringing beauty into THEIR lives....this post is no exception.

Now before you say "foundation! ICK!"  Please know that with my skin tone being all pink and blotchy most of the time AND having dry and troublesome skin the rest of the time....I need me some foundation to smooth me out....balance out the pink tones and protect my fragile sensitive skin from the elements of daily life...PLUS...I blush like a Mofo....damn fair skin....so yeah, I love my foundation like a little kid loves his security blanket.

Anywho....So My sister was in town recently and she turned me on to this new foundation:
Covergirl Simply Ageless:

And I gotta tell you, I <3 this stuff!  It's got the white strip there which is Olay built in moisturizer to keep my dry skin in check....it's very handy and comes with applicator which snaps up inside that little purple built in compact....it's great.

When used in conjunction with Olay Regenerist Serum, I tell you my skin has improved dramatically...it's so smooth and healthy looking.....

Oh, and incidentally, those of you who don't want to pay the cash to TRY Olay to see if it works for you, do like I did, buy the Wal-mart Equate Brand of it!  It's half the price and it's working fabulously for me....I HATE spending a bunch of money on a product only to discovery I hate it, but I'm very happy with my purchase.  Just smooth this serum on your face twice a day....wear it right under your make up and your face will sit up and say....THANKKKKKKKSSSS!

Here's what I do:
Step #1 - wash face
Step #2 - Use my Neutrogena Freshener
Step #3 - Put on my daily moisturizer
Step #4 - Smooth on Olay Regenerist Serum
And lastly....
Step #5 - apply Simply Ageless Foundation

-----------------------------------

So....there ya have it ladies, some new products to try if you're looking to freshen up your look.

And as a bonus product review, This is THE BEST lip gloss IN THE WORLD!  Nivea A Kiss of Shine:  Tastes kinda crappy, so don't go licking your lips a bunch, but the shine is out of this world and long lasting!  Leaves your lips soft and conditioned too...you just can't beat it!

Enjoy!

Yours in love and cosmetics,

and so it begins!

Friday I went and took my motorcycle permit test....I passed.  JimmyB went with me, we had a nice brunch at Bob Evans and then we headed out to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post in Van Wert.  Naturally we get there and discover that they switched hours....JimmyB indicated testing didn't start until AFTER 12:30 pm....sign on the door indicted that starting THAT DAY, testing was morning only!  Oh, effin great, All geared up with motorcycle knowledge....and no test to take!

CRAP!

Well, I decided to go in and ask the lady at the desk if there were other posts that had AFTERNOON hours and instead, she let me take the test!  How's that for some good ole fashioned Police Hospitality!?!?!  I was stoked!  It wasn't a wasted trip afterall.....

I sat at the computer and began to take my test....and upon answering 31 answers correctly, the test automatically shuts off and says Congrats, you've passed, see Attendant!!

I was all nervous over nothing....turns out the test wasn't as hard as i thought it was gonna be....I only got one incorrect, something about DUI ALS suspensions.....*shrugs*..can't win em' all I guess!

I then headed to the BMV to get my permit....I take my piece of paper in thinking they'll give me another piece of paper.....but as it turns out, Motorcycle permits are exactly like a drivers license...they are PICTURE ID's!  JimmyB tells me this as we're headed inside, I"m like are you freaking kidding me?  Here I was, literally just crawled out of bed, hair in a braided side pony tail....make up pretty sketchy....and he's like "yeah, i thought you knew!"....

So I go through the process..pay my twenty some bucks and sit for my picture...just as the picture's about to take, I look up and to the right...(don't ask me why) and SNAP!  the flash captures me looking like I'm rolling my eyes at the camera!

So I look like crap AND i'm making THE WORLDS' dumbest face!  Awesome!

MG wished me luck before the test and congratulated me after....was kind of cool thinking that I'm that much closer to ACTUALLY doing this....Do you guys know WHY i'm doing this by the way?  Have I ever told you....that aside from my absolute LOVE of Motorcycles.....it's always been my dream to travel across country via bike.....to go to the grand canyon, yellowstone....the bad lands....everywhere between here and the west coast...camp out every night...ride all day.....mountains, desert....the whole she-bang?!  I've always said I'd do it before I die, and now I have the permit I need to take my very first steps towards that dream.  I sure hope to fulfill it before I die.  If Heather had a bucket list, this dream is definitely on it!

So.....folks...I'm on my way to making MY OWN dreams come true...it's kinda surreal to be honest...but cool.

Yesterday....I got even closer...MG...who might I add has really been "supportive" in me learning to ride, and when I say supportive, I mean....DARING!  *laughs*....he's been trying to get me to ride SOMETHING ever since I told him I wanted to learn....4-wheelers, dirt bikes....his Harley......he's just like "c'mon, hop on, take er' for a ride!!!"

Now let me say, I'm a daring girl, and under the right circumstances, I'd do something like that, but he makes me nervous standing on my two feet....so you can imagine how big of a mess I could be on two WHEELS!  When the man kissed me the first time, I nearly fell over.....how in the hell am I going to stay upright on a bike, while traveling at speed, shifting gears and learning the art of "leaning" into a turn....when he's around?!?!?

Regardless of my efforts to avoid just that.....yesterday, he wasn't taking no for an answer.....I whined, THAT didn't work, I complained that I wasn't dressed for it...and pointed at my feet adorned with old navy flip flops...he kicked off HIS shoes and said put these on!  I did..and naturally it was like wearing clown shoes!  I thought woohoo...I'm off the hook, but nope, he said, hold on, I'll get some of E's shoes for you (his son)....sure enough, he reemerged from the house with some air-walks that magically were the PERFECT size....and my beloved MG, became MG my motorcycle coach.  Next thing ya know...He had me sitting atop his dirtbike in a vacant lot across the street from his house....giving me the basics of brakes, gears, clutch....etc.  {OMG, OMG, OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!}...yeah i was shittin' a brick!

But I'm happy to report, I road the dang thing.....I did NOT crash, stall it, pop the clutch and flip over backwards....I stayed upright....and shifted from first to second.....i leaned, i weaved a bit....and MG sat in a chair he brought over and clipped and cleaned his fingernails while I did laps around the lot!  Felt like a COMPLETE idiot the ENTIRE time....but hey, like my Coach says, you gotta start somewhere!

He also says "it's not IF you wreck on a motorcycle..but WHEN...." which I have to tell you IS NOT one of my favorite quotes....but it's knowledge one needs when attempting something new and unknown....

So.....here goes people...

From Daff's Page...to you....{Thought it was worth Sharing}

I LOVE that strangers can become friends through the art of conversing...

I love invisible, yet oh so noticeable friends....

I LOVE that through pain comes strength and understanding and sympathy for others

I LOVE that when the storm passes...the sun DOES come back out

I LOVE....when love comes from places you least expect and when good things happen to GOOD people....

I LOVE good quotes that make ya think....meals made with love, and when someone kisses your forehead....nothing says "you're special" like being kissed on your forehead when someone thinks your sleeping.

I LOVE when my phone lights up indicating there's a message for me from MG...that NEVER stops dazzling me...

I LOVE long stares from across a crowded room....

I LOVE that after nearly a year, he still gives me butterflies in my stomach....and how can I not love when he feeds me ice cream from HIS spoon.

I LOVE, motorcycle rides that leave me splattered from head to toe in lightning bug guts making ME glow in the dark....

I LOVE the smell of clothes off the clothes line.....fresh cut hay in the field and rain.

I LOVE shopping at the Dollar Store with MG...buying glow in the dark tattoos....bit o'honeys, and other random crap we don't need, but feel like treasure when you get home and start sorting through your loot.

I LOVE my neon. Regardless of what ANYONE says....that car has been very good to me, and I <3 her.

I LOVE, having a home. Even though my new relationship has me staying outside of her a lot, I still find great joy in returning "HOME"....there's truly NO PLACE like HOME.

this is just a little list....just the first things that came to mind....care to add to the list?  What do YOU LOVE?  I'd LOVE to hear!
xoxo

(.)

No, that's not a butthole for a title....it's supposed to be a "period"....you know "Aunt flo"....{boys, you can stop reading now if estrogen talk doesn't float your boat....I'll understand, I promise, no hard feelings!}

Although, I got to tell you, I kinda like the idea of a post entitled "(.) = butthole"...it's very 6th-grade-sounding....

Sometimes 6th grade doesn't sound like a bad time to go back to.....the days of passing notes in study hall....wearing your bf's Los Angeles Raiders jacket while you wait for the bus after school....jumping in the balls at Hardee's and getting kicked out for being taller than that infamous line restricting "big kids"....

Anyway....not sure where I was going with all of that....cuz THIS post is about Sprintec

Any of you familiar with Sprintec?

As many of you know, I'm an uninsured American....*shrugs*...it is what it is, but AS an uninsured American, you find ways of cutting costs and getting by in your new uninsured world.....

#1 - you go to the clinic for your yearly girlie exam...it's cheaper.

#2 - you stop taking Ortho-Tricylene Low which costs $30.00 / pack and you switch to Sprintec because you can get it at your local Walmart Pharmacy for nine dollars / month.

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, ya know?!

Anyway, since going on this particular oral contraceptive, I've discovered a new side effect...not advertised on WebMD or Drugs.com.  This pill makes me absolutely ravenous!  I mean, week three....I could literally eat an entire cow in one sitting, I'm so hungry!  and I'm not hungry for carrots and celery either...it's cheeseburgers and pizza and nachos and chips....it's all those things a girl absolutely does NOT need when she's already bloated and crampy!

I spoke with my sister and she said she was having the same problem!
(we compare notes sometimes)

Is anyone else on Sprintec?  Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm curious as well...lets have a survey shall we....
What kinda of pre-menstrual girl are you?

Weepy?
Bitchy?
Body Aches?  Lower back, Hips, Thighs?
Hormone Headache that lasts for days?
She-Devil Incarnate?
sleepy?

What ails you?

I'll go first to kick this off:

Heather's PMS (oh the joy of being a woman):  First I get sore boobs....then comes the hormonal headache that lasts for 3-4 days and magically goes away as soon as I start.  There will be approximately 6-8 hours a few days before I start where I feel a tiny bit of murderous rage....that I pass off to the outside world as "irritability"...typically nobody gets hurt....but then, for the rest of the time....before and the entire time Aunt Flo's in town....I'm SO SENSITIVE.....you say the wrong thing to me and OH YEAH I'm in tears....I'm the weepiest PMS'er ever!

Earlier this week, MG's kid told me I was annoying....I immediately got teary eyed and pouted like a 3 year old who's favorite toy just broke...Naturally MG's boy was like..."I was just kidding!!!"  ARE YOU CRYING!??!?!"

I hate it, but *laughs*....after all these years, I've accepted that I have two choices, I accept it, or I stay hauled up in my house and avoid people for seven days each month!

So, as my facebook status says:
"A true friend is someone who knows you're
a good egg even if you're a little cracked"

Nobody's Perfect...
Least of all...
me.

Hugs & Hormones,

I've recently discovered....

That the longer you're in a relationship with a guy and you own your own house and he owns his own house, the bigger your purse gets....

I once was a small bag girl...now....I've turned into THIS:

It starts with a toothbrush...when you find yourself staying over more often....
Then, it's a bottle of water...you know, in case you get thirsty

A travel packet of tissues....cell phone, gum....a mirror, chapstick/lip gloss....

When it all begins...it's a dinner date here....a movie there....a couple hour increments at a time.....now....when I leave the house, there's a distinct possibility that I might not return home for three days!  (Oh and for the record, I'm SOOOOO not complaining when I get three days straight with him!)

*sighs*

I used to have such cute little clutches...now I travel with everything from a pair of jeans....to a banana....from deodorant, sunscreen and cosmetics....to my cell phone charger and a sandwich.

I'm the girlfriend equivalent of a transient!

Just call me "Heather the Hobo" over here!

*sighs and smiles*

However, as the bags get bigger....my load metaphorically gets lighter....

Goodbye little purses.....I've loved you...I'll miss you....

Why I Effin LOVE Science!

So today on my AOL homepage, the following Headline appears:

I HAD to read this one!  I mean...a std that can HELP cure cancer?!  Seriously?!  Std's aren't just for dirty whores anymore!  Wooohhooooo!

So apparently, what they do is, they inject a manipulated version of the Herpes Simplex Virus into head and neck tumors and the virus attacks cancer cells and kills them from the inside!  How effin cool is that?!  They even manipulate the virus so that it doesn't attack healthy cells, just the cancer cells!

Dr Says:  So the bad news is, you have cancer.....The good news is, we've just injected you with Herpes!  *nods and smiles*....yeah, you can thank me later....you're gonna be Juuuuuuuust fiiiiiiiine now!

LOL.....

Is it irony that science has taken this leap of faith....so we can't make a magic serum to kill this bastard we call Cancer....so lets bust out the big guns....lets unleash viruses on it!  Yeah, F-YOU Cancer, have some mother-effin HERPES!!!
{INSERT EVIL SCIENTIST LAUGH HERE}

Watch out AIDS you're next....we're saving some syphilis for you!

Oh, I'd soooooooooooo be this guy if I had ANY scientific skill whatsoever!!  Well, that and a penis...I suppose I'd need one of those too! *giggles...snorts*
