The HOLY HELL BAD HAIR

Well, it's official, the tree is up.  The holly garland is up above the thresholds, it's officially Christmastime here at the O***** Residence.

I just wish my forehead wasn't so cold....It's been a weird couple of days, and things feel weird.  It all started when I got my haircut on Thursday night.  Now I've been going to the same person for my beauty needs for over a year and a half now and she does excellent, EXCELLENT work...until this last time.  She raped my forehead of cover.  Yes, she cut my bangs too short, they are so short in fact, when you try to straighten them...to flatten them out, they stick straight out...STRAIGHT OUT!  I cried the entire way home from the salon.  NOT a good start to the holiday if you know what I mean.  On top of that, my hair is an inch and a 1/2 shorter on one side of my head, than the other

So not only is my hair lopsided, but I have the bangs of Betty Page, the 50's Pin up girl...*sighs*

....I cried my eyes out at first, but now they are starting to grow on me....it's weird though, when i look in the mirror, I look so strange and foreign to myself.

What do you guys think?  Do I look as hideous as I feel?  Cuz I STILL feel hideous!  A girl can't be HIDEOUS AND SINGLE AT CHRISTMASTIME!

"Well, at least my tree looks nice...."

ENFP:

This was a blog post from 2007, I thought NOW might be a good time to re-evaluate where we all are....and see if any of you changed in the last 2 years....so....enlighten me?  C'mon, I'm going through a break up..you can't say no to me.....I'm all fragile and stuff! *winks*

for those of you who want to know what you wrote down as to what you were two years ago...my loyalist of readers....here's the link, go see what you were...and let me know what you NOW are!  If you so choose...that is.  My Post from 2007

*hugs*
~hl~

------------------------------

Yesterday my sister was hounding me about taking some personality test she took the first year she was in college. She was curious if she and I would test the same. So finally tonight, I broke down, went online and took the test. It was interesting and didn't take too much time to complete and now that I've done the test, researched my results and did a little background research on the test itself, I found it to be interesting.

Knowing your personality traits is beneficial in your career path as well as your relationship patterns. If you haven't taken the test and would like to...here's a link that should put you on top of it.

Anyway...I'm curious to know what your results are....I am a ENFP. If you take it, write me a comment letting me know what you are.....I want to know a little more detail about my online friends. :)

My Results:

E - 57%
N - 86%
F - 90%
P - 68%

------------------------------

UPDATE:

I took the test again 11/29/2009

and surprisingly, I am STILL an ENFP

Personality test results

Ta-dah, your personality type is ENFP!
Extraverted (E) 54%
Introverted (I) 46%
Intuitive (N) 77%
Sensing (S) 23%
Feeling (F) 70%
Thinking (T) 30%
Perceiving (P) 73%
Judging (J) 27%

However, my percentages have changed.  I'm LESS of an ENFP than I was two years ago.  I find it interesting that I feel I have "learned" so many lessons since I last took this test....and I'm 20% doing MORE thinking...and 20% LESS feeling.  It's an interesting development...dontcha think?

Breaking up:

I wrote this post earlier today.....not knowing that by the time I got around to publishing it, I'd  be single again.  Pablo and I are no more.  *tears up*.....he took it well....and once again, I accidentally turned his comment via a text message of "thinking of you"...into a texting conversation where I made a comment that forced him to ask the question, which then required me to answer...which ended in goodbye.  I TEXTED away another relationship.  AGAIN, not a high point in my career of interpersonal relationships.  I think i'm taking a break from texting.  It only seems to get me into trouble.  I'm officially alone again.  Is this what I "wanted"...No.  it's not.  Is this what I needed....I don't know that anyone ever sets out to be alone, but it IS what I needed to avoid making a mistake where not just myself would suffer the consequences, but a very special person, who doesn't deserve to ever feel like he's not good enough the way he is.  I would never be happy with him as is, and my god, that IS SO UNFAIR to him....To even for a second make him believe he's not absolutely amazing as he is.  He deserves to be loved unconditionally....just as some day, I hope someone will love me.....regardless of my constant erratic and sometimes confusing behavior, regardless of my sometimes elusive, evasive and even downright bull in the china shop approach to "happily ever after"....surely someday, SOMEONE will find that charming...and love me anyway.  Pablo deserves better than me...I want that for him too.  *tears up even more*....

Isn't it funny that no matter how good "on paper" a guy can be, you cannot generate "chemistry"...with a pen and paper...a pros and cons list.  How stupid is it that I want to cry over a relationship that "I" wanted to end?

I'm in mourning....over a relationship that never had a chance to flourish....I'm in mourning for the loss of a possibility that had the world around me feeling like they finally had me figured out....categorized and filed off as good again.  Guess my name is about to be shifted back to the "?" column....

"Hi, my name is HeatherLynn, and I'm a ?"
"Hi HeatherLynn, welcome back."

Ever notice how doing the RIGHT thing for yourself is THE hardest decision to make, but doing something all wrong, is easier than breathing in and out....you can do it, and not even know you are...
___________________________________________________________________

If you break up with someone in an e-mail, is that worse than breaking up with them on a post it note?  or worse yet, a text (which I'm guilty of btw...last year, Justin...goodbye via text!  Not done intentionally, but certainly not a high point in my relationship history)

And is there really ANY good way to end things with someone?  Because if I see Pablo, I won't go through with it...i just know it, he'll wrap his arms around me, I'll get all mushy...and weak and with one look at his face,....him giving me that look of understanding and compassion, I'll totally cop out and marry him instead.  I know me.  For a redhead, I'm a total coward in situations like these.

See here's the thing two Tuesday's ago, I had a long talk via telephone with P about how I was feeling about things, I told him that I didn't think I could be his girlfriend.  We talked long and hard, and at the end of the conversation, he asked me "well do you want to slow down, or do you not want to see me at all?"  And I didn't have a good answer for him that I felt rock solid about, so I told him I didn't know.  He said, "Think about it and let me know what you decide"...I cried a lot, but I got out what I needed to and put him in the know about where I was at and how I was feeling.  So now, the last week or so, I've been "thinking"...things over.  Hence my post from yesterday....

I typed out my explanation....I detailed position on all subjects foreign and domestic....I felt I said what I needed to, and I want so badly to just send it to him, and give him his freedom to find someone far better than ME to date....but I cringe at the thought of ending things in such an impersonal way.

However, me personally, I would MUCH rather be broken up with via e-mail than in person.  Now if it's your husband or something...well that's a different story, but a new relationship...a long distance relationship like the one I'm in....sure, e-mail gives me a chance to get broken up with when it's convenient for me, the guy doesn't get to see me fall apart and be devastated....it allows me to re-read the high points later....I can allow my friends to read my break up and analyze it to death (as girls often times do)....and I can delete the dang thing ceremoniously once I realize that I'm "over it"....a few months down the road...dating in the information age, isn't like dating even 10 years ago.  At least not in my experience anyway.

So, is there a right way, and a wrong way to end a relationship?  What are the breakup rules?  And what is THE WORST way someone ended a relationship with YOU?!

care to share?  huh?  huh? *nudges you to reply*

inquisitively yours,
~hl~

Keep it Simple Saturday:

I have some things written, and ready to post, however, the sun is shining...and it's a Saturday...lets not think shall we...lets sing instead:

Here's what I'm listening to, have a listen too:

Red Flags and Fear filled Obstinacy:

"i like the way you smile when i talk to you.
i like the way you listen. i like when you sigh when i touch you,  and i guess thats why i like you!
but there are so many things i like and admire about you.  I'm not a very good writer, so dont judge me on that:)"

I'm struggling here in a big way....I adore Pablo 75% of the time....and when I asked him why he liked me so much, the above was his reply.  And again, how can you not like a man who says this to you?

Instead I think....he likes that I smile, listen and sigh.  ANY girl can do that, these things aren't specific to me....these are not qualities that are "heather" qualities....all girls smile don't they?  and yes, I do sigh when he holds me...but I can't help it, it feels so good to be held.  And I listen...but then again, sometimes my dog really listens to me too, but it's hardly the reason why I love my pooch.  I don't want to be in a relationship where my role in it could be interchangeable with any ole girl who comes along.  So long as she smiles has hair....blinks her eyes and listens when spoken to...I want my role to be more coveted than that.  Is that wrong?  To want to be loved for your individuality, not your basic human female functions?  And yes, I totally realize I may be being overly harsh in my interpretation of his lovely little e-mail reply...but this is me....this is screwed up unlovable me.  *shrugs*

many of you know that I'm on the fence about Pablo.  And I mentioned there being "red flags"...well perhaps it's time I told you what those red flags are.  Ok, here goes.

It's the smoking and drinking.  Now before you go thinking I'm a total prude...please let me say, I like wine as much as any girl.  I like to have margarita's with my girlfriends when we go to my favorite restaurant and get a little tipsy!  I hold up my drink on New Years Eve and toast with everyone else....BUTTTTT...I'm a social drinker...for the most part, and sometimes...I'll have a glass of wine with dinner or at the end of a particularly shitty day, well because I'm 31, and I can.  But I WAS engaged at one time to an alcoholic.  And the idea of a "drinking lifestyle", well I can honestly say, I've gave it a whirl, and it's not for me.  I don't like being designated driver EVERY weekend.  I don't like alcohol determining where we go and when.  I don't like the idea that if someone "runs out of beer" that the world must stop to replenish supplies.  I don't like glassy eyes looking lustfully into mine (well sometimes I do, but not all the time)...It's just, I don't want alcohol to be a major thing on my daily agenda.

Pablo likes to drink.  To me what seems to be a lot.  Sure he's never (with the exception of this last weekend) appeared "drunk" to me when he's been around me, but the fact that he HAS to drink...when I'm obviously not...when we're just hanging around the house....I don't necessarily see why he has to be drinking to hang out with me.  Do I require a 12 pk minimum to enjoy my company?  Are my stories and conversation so dull that we need to be less coherent to enjoy them, or partake in them?

Then there's the smoking...having to stop four times while watching a movie so he can take 5-7 minutes at at time to go outside to smoke.  When I used to smoke...smoking didn't run my life...I COULD go without them when I needed to.  Like while at the movie theater for instance, I didn't pay $8.50 to see a movie only to miss minutes of it at a time to go smoke in the middle.  I make it through my workday without having to smoke.  I drove all the way to Wisconsin (8 hour drive) with my mom and my sister without smoking....and driving is when i craved cigarettes THE MOST...but I COULD do it.  So it's hard for me to understand people who literally CAN'T fore go them temporarily....when need be.

And then there's this.... I DON'T WANT HIM TO CHANGE. I like Pablo, I think he's kind and sweet, and thoughtful at times and he's super mouthwatering good looking and he is understanding and he likes to read, and he takes interest in things that interest me...he's a million kinds of awesome...he is a "relationship guy"...he isn't afraid of commitment, and for some ODD reason, he likes ME!  But I don't want him to stop drinking, stop smoking, or have to change for me.  I don't want him to feel bad for even a second about who he is just because it isn't ideal to me.  I want him to be him, and I want me to be me, and I'm just afraid that if he's him and I'm me, there's just no way we, can be a WE.   Can we?

Sadly, I'm just afraid that he's not my someone.  If he has to change who he is FOR me, then how can he be FOR ME?

Or maybe I'm just too afraid to get into a relationship that has even the slightest inkling of failure.  If I have even one doubt.....it's enough to send me running so far, so fast, that before you know it, I'm just a little speck on the horizon.....

can you see me? I'm right heeeeeeere....see!  I'm a speck.  no bigger than a `.`

Turkey, Gobble, Gobble....WAIT, STOP, NO, THAT HURTS!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Did you guys know that one of my nick-names is Turkey.  Hence, why my e-mail address is "Turkey42@hotmail.com"...I know a lot of you have asked me, why my address is "Turkey"...well that's why.....

See my old co-workers over at Technicon {Todd, Denise & Amber} lovingly named me that and here's how that happens.  Follow me if you will:

My name is Heather...which rhymes with Feather which made me HeatherFeather...

So then, well, Heather rhymes with feather...and what bird has feather's....um...Turkeys.

So then I was HeatherTurkeyFeather....we called it my "Indian Name"...Like "Walks with Wolves", or "Running Bear"...you get my drift...

Then it was shortened...to TurkeyFeather...then shorter still to Turkey...and then lovingly arranged as "Turkster", "Turkmeister" or just plain "Turk", etc., etc.

All of this because my name is Heather.  Yeah, they were an inventive bunch....which is exactly WHY they should be the ones providing you will all of your holiday Architectural needs this holiday season!  {my ex boss would LOVE that I just plugged him publicly....Your welcome Tony! *winks*}

So what am I thankful for this year:
well lets see shall we....

  • I'm first thankful for the loves of my life.  My friends & family...my loved ones.  You know who you are!  and I know who I am because of you.  xoxxoxox
  • I'm thankful that for the first time since 2005, I'll spend the holidays in a home of my very own.  Home really IS where my heart is.
  • I'm thankful for a car that still runs even with 150,000 miles and counting - LOVE YA NEON!
  • for the fact that my sister from Wisconsin, and her children and husband will soon be coming to Ohio for a stay...at my NEW HOUSE!
  • For my bed that always comforts me
  • for Pablo's arms wrapped around me over the past few weeks...even if it's not forever, I'm appreciative for the moments I get.
  • I'm thankful for Dove Chocolate
  • Pizza Hut Pizza
  • I'm thankful that I FOUND my lost "Home Alone" Christmas Soundtrack!  well, for that matter Christmas music in general!  I LOVE it!
  • and my Harley Davidson Low Rise Shoes that after seven years, are still jazzing up my feet with amazing comfort.
  • I'm thankful for my Dog Chubs...who recently got fleas...but whom I love enough to forgive.
  • I'm thankful for my health and happiness in 2009....After a very rocky 2008, 2009 has been a much needed bright spot in my last few years.
  • and I'm thankful that due to new laws written into effect, I may now qualify for the "home buyer's credit" on my taxes this coming year...SO THANK YOU LAW WRITERS!  I salute you!
So there you have it, and it's straight from this Turkey's beak!  You heard it here first!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yours,
~hl~

Thanksgiving with the Cullens

My Cousin Rachel last week and I were conversing the night away on the phone.....toward the end of the conversation she and I were talking about my invite to have Thanksgiving with the C****** Family.  She says "You're having dinner with the Cullen Family!?!?!??!?!"  His last name is Cullen?!  And I said no, *laughs*, no, it's not Cullen, it's C******....she's like...sounds just like Cullen...like you're having thanksgiving with the Cullens....

I'm not actually going to have dinner with my new bf's family, due to serious commitment issues on my part....and it being rather soon in our relationship....

*sighs*

But, we should all be so lucky to be having Thanksgiving with the Cullens....

You wouldn't have to argue over who got the best cuts of Turkey....and there'd not be any shortage of seconds...that's for sure!

ahhhhh....dinner with the Cullens....would be great...so long as the Cullens weren't having YOU for dinner!

Tuesday....is....

Frozen Pizza night at the O***** Residence of One...well, two if you count Chubs (my dog)....if you count his three remaining fleas....well then we are a house hold of five!  Nice lil family I've got going these days...

Tuesday is one night of the week that I work two jobs.  I don't have to be to my second job until 8:00 p.m....and therefore it's always frozen pizza night on Tuesdays.

Frozen Pizza, the licking of greasy fingers....and illegal downloading of random K. Clarkson & Movie Soundtrack songs....that I heard ten years ago that for some reason I'm just NOW remembering....which totally reminds me, I now have Fergie's "Glamorous"...I need to play that while I change out of my stuffy legal work clothes..while shaking my booty like a teenager....yes, 31 year old single people STILL do things like this, because, well, there's nobody here to stop us, or make fun of us!  My dog rolls his eyes..but he's got four legs and can't shake it like I can!  so he can suck it! *winks*

Currently I'm addicted to Anya Marina's "Satellite Heart" from the New Moon Soundtrack.....I listen and listen to it until I....well....have to stop...for reasons out of my control, like incoming phone calls, having to leave to go to work, or get out of my car to go into the office, or when I fall unconscious at the end of the night....you know stuff like that.

What are you all listening to?  What song are you obsessively playing over and over and not getting sick of...I'm feeling like I would like some new music to fall in love with.  Some of my favorite songs I was introduced to by someone else, so let me have it....

what do I just HAVE to download on this fateful
"Frozen Pizza and Illegal download Tuesday"?

*hits replay on her music player...Satellite Heart begins to play again*

You better give me something quick, my neighbors are calling, telling me to hit NEXT on my playlist!!

Obsessively yours,
~hl~

Heather Behaving Badly:

Ok, so I walked away from my desk for a minute...

back to the copy machine to copy some stuff....

And I came back to my desk to find THIS:

All I saw was her pink princess hat and those dark little eyes blinking blankly at me!  It was like a scene right out of X-files!

I realize now, looking at this picture, she looks not at all harmful or creepy...but take away that smile, and then put her eyes and hat brim closer to the countertop...and it was like a little alien looking over the counter at me!  ANd no, this isn't a racial thing...I mean, green little men, alien!

And let me tell ya, it scared the bejesus outta me!  Literally, I said...OMG! and clutched my chest like i was having a heart attack and said JESUS!!!  I nearly scared the little girl to death with my reaction, but she really scared the crap outta me....and I apparently scared the crap outta her back!  When I asked her "Can I help you?"...she just blinked those big brown eyes at me and shook her head indicating NO!!

I told her sorry...but you scared the crap out of me!

Then she told me a story about having to get put in "timeout" a lot by her mom's boyfriend....

to which I responded "that sucks!"

So in a matter of minutes, I said "Jesus!"  "Crap!" and "Sucks" to a kindergartner!

I'm so not child-friendly! lol

Photoblog:

There is some new stuff over at the Photo Blog for those of you who USED to like my photography attempts...but gave up by my lack of participation.

I posted a few new things....

and am hoping to get a lot more photo-oriented in the coming months.....

xoxoxx
~hl~

Is it terribly odd....

That THIS is a face of inspiration to me?

that THIS is the face that greets me every day as I sit down at my computer....

is it odd that what you can't see in this photo, is that he has a green, squishy removable brain that you can throw and it will stick to the wall?

that this same green icky brain is a stress reliever i like to squish between my pale white fingers and contemplate things to great length?

Things like whether it's odd or not, that I've moved five times since his skull-ness made his way to me, and I still have him, however, I have no idea what happened to other things, things 100x his size and that somehow, amazingly have otherwise become missing in action or accidentally left behind....

yet the skull...remains....

*sighs*

I like him.  He always smiles at me.

For anyone who might be worried about the morbidity of this, your skullness sits to the right of my computer monitor...while THIS guy sits to the left...the way I see it, it all balances out in the end.

Smurfs...man I loved those little blue devils!

Cowboy smurf here's been with me since I was a wee littlin...riding my banana seat bike down around my childhood home on Mericle Road.  Where we had smurf wall paper and rainbow colored shag carpet.  We were pretty hip cats back then.  Right Ang?

yours smurftastically,

Stages of Grief:

Finding out your dog has fleas is a traumatic event.  You feel lost and alone....scared and um...itchy....you look at your dog like they ASKED for this....say things like..."if you'd not been whoring around with those dogs from across the alley, this would of NEVER happened!  YOUR GROUNDED MR.!"

then you try and let the healing begin...

here's how it goes:

Five Stages of "my dog's got fleas" Grief

  1. Denial"But it's only one...I only saw one....that's hardly an infestation, he's a good boy,he'd never do this to me!  I mean, like he loves me, and he knows what this kind of thing would do to me....right?  I mean, sheeshh...yes of course he does.  This isn't happening.  It was just one, a fluke! "  Denial is usually only a temporary defense for the individual. This feeling is generally replaced with heightened awareness of situations and individuals that will be left behind.[1]
  2. Anger"Damnit Chubs...what did I tell you would happen if you ran with riff-raff?  Do they LOOK like they wear protection?  Of course not!  I can't believe you would just throw precaution to the wind and allow this to "just happen to you"....WAS IT WORTH IT?  YOU LIIIIIIIKE ITCHING?  DAMN BLOODSUCKING....@(#*$(@*&^$)@**$#&(@$&"
Once in the second stage, the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue. Because of anger, the person is very difficult to care for due to misplaced feelings of rage and envy. Any individual that symbolizes life or energy is subject to projected resentment and jealousy.[1]
  3. Bargaining"I just want to get this stopped now, if we can stop this now....everything is going to be alright, if I can just get things in place, this will go away...we don't even need to tell anyone.."
The third stage involves the hope that the individual can somehow postpone or delay. Usually, the negotiation for an extended of time is made with a higher power in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. Psychologically, the person is saying, "I understand I we have fleas....NOW...but, but if I could just have more time...we won't anymore"[1]
  4. Depression"we have fleas....you are itching...I'm itching...why even bother....I need a nap....you need a bath....maybe just go douse yourself with flea powder....I feel.....sleepy....?  Who's at the door, no, tell them I'm not home!  What?  Yeah, I know you're a dog and can neither answer the door nor tell them that, but damnit, you have fleas, you deal with the door!"
During the fourth stage, the person begins to understand the certainty of their situation. Because of this, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time crying and grieving. This process allows the person to disconnect oneself from things of love and affection. It is not recommended to attempt to cheer up an individual who is in this stage. It is an important time for grieving that must be processed.[1]
  5. Acceptance"Ok, bath time!  *throws chubs in the bath, squirts smelly green gelatinous flea bath soap on his little body and rubs it in*  *fleas start to die...washed away by the hot water...down the drain, down, down, down they go...buh-bye fleas....."
This final stage comes with peace and understanding of the death of the fleas that is approaching. Generally, the person in the fifth stage will want to be left alone. Additionally, feelings and physical pain may be non-existent. This stage has also been described as the end of the struggle.[1]

So yeah, chubs is flea free right now.... sitting in the sunlight...basking in his flea-freeness!

Movie Review TIme:

Well, people, it's here, the much anticipated movie review for New Moon, the second edition of the Twilight Book Series turned movies.

First let me start by saying....that when I awoke this morning.....my eyes were gritty from not going to bed until nearly 4:00 a.m.

but that didn't matter....

I awoke to my house as cold as a vampire's embrace...a frigid 58 degrees...but again...

that didn't matter...

I let the dog out...in a wife beater and pj pants...and a gust of icy wind blew in my face and stole my breath...but even that...

didn't matter....

Because last night's swell of euphoria is still as in tact as it was when I laid my head on my pillow and fought with my subconscious to try to sleep.....

Only when my friend J texted me to tell me that 98.9 "The Bear"'s radio DJ's were making fun of Twilight Fans saying that the movie sucked and only teenage girls and old ladies found it appealing did my foundation of blissfulness crack.  I said to him, "Well, first of all, they obviously didn't read the books, so they can't possible understand what their 10 year old mentalities won't allow them to grasp"....

J said, "whoa, take it easy there crazy!"...but seriously, just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean you need to degrade it.  So what, it's a silly little movie based on what some see as a still little book series....but you know what fuck off if you don't understand.  I don't understand why people liked the movie Blood Sport....I don't understand Star Trek Conventions...I don't understand furbies...or people who dress like pirates and live life as if they were one.  *shrugs*...yep, makes absolutely no sense to me, but for the love of God people....."to each their own!"....it makes us happy, it makes us smile uncontrollably....why would any man question something that makes his woman giddy and full of childlike enthusiasm?  ASSHOLES, that's who!  *laughs*

on to the movie review.....

I find it's best I put it to you like this.....the first time I watched Twilight (2008)...um, I hated it.  It was too far from the book for me to fully appreciate it.  I thought the acting was weak compared to the writing of Stephenie Meyer and I thought that while the movie was visually beautiful, I'd of rather watched it on Mute while listening to the twilight soundtrack than actually watching the movie on it's own.  Harsh, I know.  So with that said, and taking that into full account....I have three words for you for New Moon.....

OH

MY

GOD!!

Spoken like a true swooney teenager.

As there were plenty of them at the theater last night.  Sitting in line 3 hours before the movie opened, it their pj's, sitting on the floor doing their homework....high on Mt. Dew and hormones....giddiness and pure infatuation.  Clad in their "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" T-shirts....It was quite the experience, I must tell you....and I can assure you that without a doubt, when Eclipse comes out...I'll be back there, 12:01 a.m. in a packed theater full of screaming girls munching on gummy worms that I purchased at the Dollars Store....nearly floating off my chair in anticipation.

*sighs and smiles*

This movie is 10x, if not 20x better than Twilight.  The graphics are 100x better...the acting is better, everything about this movie is just better done, better written, better directed, better, better, better!

The wolves were accurate to real-life wolf characteristics...and movement.  The Volturi were eerily fantastically creepy, just as I imagined them.  Dakota Fanning as Jane was fierce...and heartless in her performance, exactly like Jane is.  Aro is so obviously brimming with invincibility and arrogance...and those blood red eyes....made you believe in feeding frenzies....as you unconsciously wrapped your own hand around your throat at the idea of what was coming for the visitors the Volturi's administrative assistant ushered down that long corridor to meet the awaiting blood lust that awaited them.

Is this movie breathtakingly done like the Lord of the Rings...well, no.

Will you absolutely love it....yes.

Is it better than the first....without a doubt....

Would I dare spoil this for any one of you by going in any further detail before you get a chance to watch it for yourself....I wouldn't dream of it!

So to all you silly, swoony girls just like me, who are out there proudly loving the phenomenon known as Twilight....girls who read, girls who have imagination, girls who spit in the faces of stupid radio DJ's who dare mock us.....I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Oh, and get some gummy worms, those things are just ridiculously delicious!

Yours Faithfully,

ps - here's a list of some of my favorite blogger's own personal takes on New Moon: {I'll keep updating until I quit finding ones I want to read/share with you}:

Marjorie's Take on NM
Mayra's "It's Always been Him"
Mayra's "time-passes-even-when-it-seems"

New Moon Article I enjoyed from TIME Magazine

also, here's a movie review from the Los Angeles Times, by Kenneth Turan.  however, while I don't agree with his review of the movie, I DO like that he gives us footage nobody else has!  Enjoy the Visuals.

To address some of this reviewers statements:  He says that the New Director Chris Weitz was not as attached to the story, where Catherine Hardwick "felt it in her bones"...however I felt this movie far greater did NOT deviate from the story in the way Twilight, 2008 had Edward climbing up into trees and that whole scene where they went on a school field trip, etc.  He complains about Edward's absence in the film, but it was absolutely necessary for his departure to allow us to fall in love with jovial Jacob.  We needed to feel Bella's sadness and loss to appreciate the depth of their love...I liked that in the movie, through the use of Bella's e-mails to Alice we established just how much Bella loves not just Edward, but the entire Cullen Family.  She doesn't JUST miss Edward, she misses them all to the point of physical pain.

This movie took the focus off Bella and Edward, and finally let us know the other characters on screen.  Mike Newton finally is more than a prop.  Letting us see Jacob and his pack of Wolves both human and animal HAD to happen here to prepare for the additional movies.  We see more of Charlie..and who doesn't love Charlie?  These books are better than just Bella.  Better than just Edward....and while the story centers around their love...there is soooooo much more to Twilight than a girl falling in love with a Vampire.

but then again...I'm just a fan, what do i know?! *winks*

Comedy = Funny?

So I'm thinking that it's ironic you see...that while watching comedy central...that I laughed harder at an e-trade commercial during the break than the actual comedian on the show....

If it's your "job" to be funny....

um....shouldn't you say.....ummmm.....BE funny?

Brings Tears to my eyes:

There's one thing that pulls at my emotional strings, and that's a kick ass musical performance.  A amazing guitar solo literally has the ability to bring me to tears...and causes my throat to get all tight..as a smile spreads all across my face in both wonder...and jealousy because i'm witnessing something amazing that I know I can't do!

while watching the CMA's Wednesday night, I watched one such performance that literally had me wanting to stand up and clap in the middle of my my living room!

The Zac Brown Band is OMG Taltented.  His fingers flew so fast, so wildly on that guitar while his violinist showed how a fiddle was meant to be played!

I had to share it....it liked it so much.

Enjoy!

New Moon:

I don't know if I told you guys this or not, but tonight, I will go see the second theatrical addition to the Twilight Movie Series, New Moon.

Oh, this is a much anticipated development for me.

Personally, i was highly disappointed with the first movie...I believe if you are going to make a movie, it has to be at least ALMOST as good as the novel, however....I have much better expectations for movie #2.  Bigger budget, new director.....seasoned cast....Oh I can hardly wait.

I never thought I'd read books that would leave me longing for months afterwards for there to be more to read....that the story would just go on forever...

So you can imagine my excitement when after reading all four books:  Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.....to find out there's more.  Well, there's partly more.  It's 12 chapters entitled Midnight Sun.  It's 12 Chapters of the original story of Book One:  Twilight but written from Edward's perspective.  All of Edward's thoughts, all of the inner thoughts of the Cullens....filtered through Edwards mind...and experiences.  Oh, it's heaven to read.  While I knew starting to read it that it was an unfinished manuscript, just feeling for a brief second that there was more....that Stephenie Meyer had began to give us more...well, it curled my toes with delight.

For those of you who have not read it you can obtain the link at Stephenie Meyer's website:  Midnight Sun Rough Draft Link.

Stephenie has not finished writing the rest of the book to my knowledge due to the fact that someone leaked the book on the internet before she had time to fully finish prepare to distribute the book.  And who knows if she ever will now due to these unfortunate events and breach of confidentiality.  Just cross your fingers she doesn't accidentally punish us fans, because some indiscreet person violated her trust.

TRUST US STEPHENIE....WE ARE BREATHLESSLY AWAITING YOUR FINISHING TOUCHES!  DON'T STOP NOW....PUHLEEEEEEEEZE, PRETTY PUHLEEEEEZE WITH CHERRIES ON TOP?!

Ok, enough shameless begging....so tonight, Ash and I will head off to see first Twilight (2008) at 9:00 p.m.  Followed by a 12:01 a.m. showing (the very first one available) of New Moon!  Oh, I am soooooo excited.  A review soon to follow!

YAY! 10% off sanity...sugar and Pizza.

I just said something....that I don't think I've said since I was five...wait, no, i don't think I've EVER said these words....have no idea what brought these particular words FLYING out so gleefully from my mouth...

but...fly they did.

"Oh, Goodie Goodie Gumdrops!"

can you believe that shit, I just said "OH GOODIE GOODIE GUMDPROPS!!!"  Who says things like that?!  Over the age of 5 and born after 1950?

It's times like these I start to wonder about past life experiences and reincarnation...because this 1978 Model of HeatherLynn...doesn't say things like this....but maybe I did in the past?

The good news is, a representative from Pizza Hut was just in my office...and gave me a card to receive 10% off all of my Pizza Hut purchases from now until December 31, 2010.  Which yes, I can see the average person getting mildly jazzed by this news...but me....I said goodie goodie gum drops..I'll probably be preparing a nice little jazz/tap routine later today to perform in honor of this good news! This swollen eyed and tired syndrome I'm suffering from today is taking hold...

This is a situation for....yeah, I know what I need....I need Chocolate.  STAT.

*runs off to the break room* ................

....................
....................................

When life gives you goodie goodie gumdrops....eat chocolate.  Makes perfect sense to me *shrugs*

Wrap me in Caution tape & re-direct traffic:

In the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" there is a line, one that I've often times thought about....and it was:

Frances: Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you. Like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly. You shouldn't have to wake up day after day after that, trying to understand how in the world you didn't know. The light just never went on, you know. I must have known, of course, but I was too scared to see the truth. Then fear just makes you so stupid.
Martini: No, it's not stupid, Signora Mayes. L'amore e cieco.
Frances: Oh, love is blind. Yeah, we have that saying too.
Martini: Everybody has that saying because it's true everywhere.

And I thought of this tonight.....why can't divorce just kill you instead of making you the walking wounded.  You look fine, healed, functioning...but there's a part of you that you never get back...

Will it ever come back?
