Goldielocks of Cocks....(Vulgar I know)

So what, I'm looking for one that's "juuuuuuuuuuust right".

Goldie Locks is a very misunderstood character...people thought she was all selfish, she wanted it all....while tasting everything until she found what she was looking for...but how do we ever REALLY know what it is we are looking for, if we never try and find it, test theories, test waters...and see if what we've found, or think we found is what we thought it is we wanted?

Goldie Locks wasn't a spoiled high maintenance un-pleasable bitch...she was a smart girl who knew the value of trial and error...and perseverance. She knew eventually that porridge would reach the right temperature...she knew that there was a bed out there that she'd find comfortable....

So...I hung out with Mr. Comfortable last weekend. We had it set up to watch a movie on Friday night. I was comfortable with that....and so after work on Friday, we hit the RedBox at the Delphos McDonalds, grabbed "Sex Drive" which I'd already seen, but he hadn't and I knew he'd like it, so I didn't mind watching it again....come to think of it, I could watch it right now and still enjoy it...(funny movie)..anyway....so we watched the movie, there was some cuddling on the couch as we watched....which had me wondering, why does this feel so effortless? I can cuddle right up to him...not stomach butterflies, no sweaty palms, no worrying. Being with him is virtually stress free. I'm not used to this....is comfort a sign of goodness....or do you need the butterflies and sweaty palms to gauge attraction?

So anyway, I decide to test my theory after the movie was over, and when he put on a soft music CD which was playing in the back ground...I moved from our spooning position, and turned to face him...which lead to kissing, then touching...(all over top of clothes) as that was my one rule to this experiment...the kisses there in the dark were pleasant, I was delighted to discover he and I shared the same kissing style...NOT ALL TONGUE. I'm not a fan of a lot of tongue. A little..sensually = good. Full out tonsil hockey...ick!

Ok, so the kisses were good, there seemed to be a building sexual tension...so I'm thinking to myself, maybe I COULD date him.....hmmmmmmm....could I? Should I?

But then I stopped short of anything really happening, and decided I didn't want this to go any further...I really DID want to take things slow...and things were bordering on dangerous territory. So we stopped making out like high schoolers and talked.

And then I left him on the couch to sleep...and I went to my room and to sleep as well.

The next day, he hung out....we ate lunch, watched some of a movie....then he left around Oh, four or so. So at this point we'd been together since six O'clock the previous day at work until now, which was ALMOST 24 hours.

After he was gone, I went to talk to Kami across the street, tell her about the experience of having a 24 hour date...and I wasn't over there very long before the text came in from him, saying he wanted to know if it was alright to come back later and "hang out"....I crinkled my nose...especially when I read the last portion of his text that said "that is, unless you are sick of me already ;) ) What was I supposed to say..."Yeah, i'm sick of you, please don't come by!"

So I told him if he wanted to, he was welcome to come by, but that I might have some people over....about dark time, he was back. Jim & Jennifer and Tonia and myself were having a nice breezy chat on my front porch when he arrived. The night was spent sharing stories, laughing hysterically at Tonia's wild tales...and then when everyone left, it was he and I again. Alone. And it dawned on me that I didn't want to kiss him. I felt as if I was being repelled. Not intentionally, but like by my very nature or something.

He again intended on staying the night, which I was clued in on when i saw he brought an overnight bag...and he'd had a couple beers from my refrigerator.

So again, there we were on my couch...spooning, but this time I didn't turn to explore, i fell asleep...and so did he. At daybreak, I escaped his embrace and scurried to my bedroom where I slept a while longer.

Around ten thirty, I awoke to my co-worker Willy mowing at the neighbors. I let the dog out....stretched my legs, smoked a cigarette on the front porch, waved at Willy....and went to see if my couchmate was awake. He was.

He asked what my plans were for the day and I told him I was going to mow my grass....and next thing you know, he was offering to mow FOR me, and I was like.....seriously, you don't have to earn your keep, I can mow my grass later, it's hot out, don't mow my grass...I'll get it later.

Then he went outside to smoke...or so I thought, next thing ya know....there he is in the back yard mowing and weed whacking....to his hearts content. I don't know why, but it didn't sit right with me, I was like..."Why is he mowing my yard? I asked him not to!" So I go outside and bring him a bottle of water, as he was sweating profusely in the what seemed like summer heat. He looked all proud of how great the fresh cut grass looked, but all I could see was that he mowed over my flowers that had sprouted but not yet bloomed. He says, "how's it look?" and I couldn't help it, I said "it looks great except for the fact you mowed over all my flowers"...he looked panic stricken....he was like.."Whhhaaat?!?!?" "Where, I didn't see any" he professed.

I just sighed, and said: "it doesn't matter, they'll grow back....probably.....I hope."

So after the lawn mowing, he was outside talking to Willy, which made Willy give me a look like "girlfriend...what's the downlow on this?!" As Willy is a handsome 40 year old black man who I wasn't sure about when I first started working with him, but has fastly became my new work friend who always makes me laugh....but I saw the look he was giving me...inquisitive, as if he was interrogated me with his one raised eyebrow.

Then my couchmate was across the street, with his hood of his car open, and my neighbor and cousin-in-law Kevin was outside peering at car engines...I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. Like everywhere I looked my life was getting entangled with him. He was in my yard mowing, he was on my couch sleeping, he was in my refrigerator grabbing a beer, he was in the bathroom brushing his teeth....the room started to spin and I started to freak the eff out! Dramatic, but true. I felt like i couldn't breathe there for a minute, and knew that Kami must of felt my anguish when she texted me to indicate she saw all the "manly activity" going on over at my place.

He finally left mid afternoon....making what was supposed to be a movie date into a weekend slumber party, lawn mowing extravaganza.....I was relieved when he didn't try to kiss me, just hugged me instead....and even more relieved when I closed the door behind him and it was just me again.

See Goldie Locks was home alone. Free to try things and move on. But I felt like I was no longer trying the porridge, or testing the bed, the porridge and the beds were testing me....and they brought their overnight bags and moved into my "happy place"...my "refuge"...my "home".....

*sighs*....

I'm waiting for something that's juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right....and this, well, as I stare at my mowed over flower remains...it just didn't fit...it didn't feel right.

I want the butterflies and sweaty palms I guess....

So naturally I sent him an e-mail the following day expressing my unreadiness for a relationship, something I told him ever so clearly when he gave me that flower back in February, but I felt there was nothing more I could do then to put back up that section of fence that I had allowed him to cross over....

He took it well, and said he's cherish our weekend together forever...as if it were just a very pleasant dream he once had. Then he told me that it's a shame that no flowers would be allowed to bloom because the soil had been exploited before the seed could take root.

I guess I'm what you'd call bad potting soil....nothing blooms, nothing grows...just rotten seeds...wasted cultivation.

and into the twilight I delve

It's freezing in here...what i wouldn't give for a day that requires no climate control....no conditioning of the atmosphere whether it be heating or cooling...It'd be nice to just...be. ya know?

There is a train blaring it's siren-esque horn outside my window....and it's rumbling resonates through every fiber of this old house and through me too...

I am chilled to the core of my body...so I put on a pot of coffee, to thaw my icy hands, and warm me from the inside out.

Tonight I begin Twilight. Book one.

My sister has been on my ass for weeks now...saying "why haven't you started it yet?"..."what are you waiting for" and "what do you mean you are going to wait until summer?!?!"

So, today i begin my journey through a series of 4 books that have had my sister more excited than a stripper preforming for a man with a briefcase of 100 dollar bills. I figure, anything that gets her THAT excited, well, it might just be worth checking out! *winks*

So, there goes the high pitched alarm, alerting me to the fact that my coffee is steaming, brewed and ready for me....so I guess I aught to shuffle out there in my pink house slippers and pour myself a cup....

Happy Wednesday.

~hl~

{and in a side note: Thanks to my beloved cousin Sue, who dutifully WALKED to my house to hand deliver this book to me, so I could begin reading without delay. Good friends, good family and good neighbors are hard to come by....even harder when they are all three in one. What a blessing it is.}

...blah....b

Day 9…..and still no roommate.

Sent out my first mortgage payment today…

I got rid of a friend, who as it turns out wasn’t much of a friend at all….

Gained a new one, who then got too close and freaked me out….so I had to withdraw back into my happy place until he stopped trying to be near me…

It’s raining….

My eyes are being held open with toothpicks…

I’m obviously tired…a bit cranky….

Last night while chomping on my gum at my night job, I bit the side of my cheek and today I am very aware of my own mouth….and the throbbing pain shooting around in there…

I have the sneaking suspicion that Doug the UPS man and I did NOT win the lottery last night. :/

What day is it….Wednesday?

*sighs*

If I had to put my disposition into visual effect….See above. Officially.

The Saga Continues:

Alright… so once more I find myself hitting a snag in the road of satin I’ve been skipping along…. Darren can’t move in. So here I am…AGAIN on the hunt for a roommate.

And I don’t want a stranger, I don’t want the Craig’s List killer as my new Roommate, which coincidentally I think they caught him, and I don’t want someone whom I can’t stand to go home to. Hence why Darren was my #1 choice in the roommate department, cuz, well, I love hanging out with him and he’s one of my best friends. This SUCKS!!

So, I need your help….Do you guys know anyone?

HELP!! Please?

Observation...and compliments...

Why is it so hard to take a compliment gracefully? Or maybe this is just something I struggle with?

So remember the guy who got me flowers at work….and then wrote me that email/poem thing….and I questioned whether romance really existed….??

Well, I refused to think of this young guy as anything other than a co-worker. He let me know he liked me, I increasingly put distance between us. He said, “hey, I like you”…and I said “hey, you probably shouldn’t”….

Anyway, so he backed off, stopped e-mailing me and while he didn’t stop talking to me at work, he definitely took the hint and settled for friendly co-worker conversations….and never pressed the issue of more.

Well, we’ve been talking a lot. I mean, on Tuesdays, we can get in about six hours of conversation while we work….and damnit, he’s just really sweet. He kind of looks out for me…always smiles at me, always giving me this look, this look that’s like…he thinks I’m... I don’t know…like…interesting…or intriguing or something. I feel like he’s a bird watcher…and I’m some new species of bird that he’s just trying to study….understand the patterns of.

At first, I wasn’t sure if it was creepy…or endearing…but the more I get to know him, the more conversations we have, it’s starting to grow on me…bordering on endearing. And he’s totally NOT someone I’d date normally, first he’s young…like five years younger than me, secondly, he’s still in college, he’s kinda got a beard, and ya’ll know those things freak me the eff out! He’s a single dad…oh, he’s just not my “type”…if I have a type….I’d say, safely, he’s not it.

BUT….I can’t help but notice things….like one day, as he was wiping sweat from his brow….I like noticed he had these really cute freckles under his eye…and I was like “Oh, c’mon…wtf!!??!!! Heather…STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!” A work romance is THE LAST thing I need right now. But there is something attractive about someone who is sincere. There's something remarkable about a guy who puts his feelings out there, so openly, so fearlessly....it's just amazing to me, that regardless of my holding out on him, and not encouraging him, he still thinks I'm worth paying attention to....talking to, laughing with...

But the real issue is….he showers me with compliments. I mean, always saying I’m beautiful, or cute…or something, and I’m not used to this. I mean, I try to take his compliments, but mostly, I have a hard time with it….for some reason, I never know what the proper response is. Do you say “thanks”….do you just smile and say nothing…I can’t say “thanks, you’re beautiful too”…so I don’t know what to do. I’m out of my element.

How does one take a compliment? What is proper etiquette? And by taking the compliment, am I opening a door to more?

There's Nothing Pretty about Petty:

What is it in us that makes completely ordinary adults turn into childish minded A-holes? Is it a gene tucked away cleverly in our DNA? Is it brought on as some sort of coping mechanism?

Today while I was walking up the basement steps carrying a laundry basket of clean and fresh smelling delicates, there it was, Pettiness! My brain began to have an imaginary "what would I say if I hear from them again" conversation of the one sided nature.

My mind cleverly created a combination of dialect sure to sting the ego of even the most big headed, self indulgent bastard to ever walk the earth.

And I was like stunned, because first of all, where in the hell did that come from?!?! and secondly, I'm not THAT kind of girl. I have pride enough to want to walk away with class and some shred of dignity. Pettiness just screams immaturity and a complete lack of manners...not that telling someone you don't love them via text message isn't grounds for immature responses, but why do we allow petty into our thought process?

I mean, our mothers told us if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, right? Shouldn't we of evolved past petty by now? And what IS pettiness really? Is it the hurt part of us voicing it's discontent? Was my random internal rhetoric just saying those things that all women think but never have the balls to be a total bitch and say?

I think i may have uncovered my "inner meanie" and wow, she's been bottled up so long she's dusty and not up to code.

I will not ever say those things which my "inner meanie" suggests i say, because I refuse to hurt someone JUST because they hurt me, but it's tough to listen to yourself and totally disregard yourself at the same time.

There is good and evil in all of us. The evil is never pretty and the good is never petty.

A young man, a broken car and a coworker....

So last night, my co-worker at EP's car broke down.....and THEN, his cell phone died. So come the end of the evening, there he was stranded, no phone....and the phone #'s he needed to call for help, were digitally being held hostage by his phone's dead battery.

Sucky right?!!

Now normally, I don't get involved with EP employees past a certain point. As most of them are quite shady creatures, but this particular employee is also the one who gave me flowers on valentines day and called me angelic....and I guess it was time for me to prove my angelic-ness. So I offered him my phone to call his friend, he dialed number after number, trying to remember what the correct number was....he wasn't doing so well, so I called my friend who knew his friend and viola, I got him the number.

Then he was there arguing with his friend about whether he could come get him or not....and I was like...Dude, just get in the car! Him, still on the phone looked at me startled...and I said "seriously, just get in the car, I'm not leaving you here in the empty parking lot at EP. You can wait for your ride at my house!"

He got in....and told his friend on the phone he was being kidnapped...I said, "keep the phone, you can always dial for help!"

I drove home.

put on my pj's...

He coordinated the pick up....

We hung out..

talked...

It was nice. And he didn't jump on top of me, or try to put the moves on me...he was perfectly behaved.

This is a guy I'd never of thought of dating...#1 cause he's very young. #2 We work together, and I don't date people I work with, and #3 I'm not sure he's my type...AND he's still in college.

But knowing he has a crush, or whatever the kids are calling them these days....makes me take pause and crunch the numbers so to speak. Could I? hmmmmmm?

He'd definitely different then the other guys. He's not tried to fuck me, when I warned him of my unwanted work place romance, he completely took a step back....and didn't smother me, or try to convince me to change my mind...he stepped back. He's absolutely a god send to me at work....last night for example, i was stuck doing this one job where you are basically by yourself, you are away from everyone, so you can't talk or anything....next thing ya know...here comes Diane saying that if I wanted to go insert by hand, (at the table with the guy in question) that I could and she'd take my place. When i got over to the table, I asked him if he'd put Diane up to that and he just smiled sweetly and said "you looked lonely, so I asked Diane if I'd be alright if you could come work with me over here." He really is good to me....and I never noticed it before, but he had these really cute freckles on the bridge of his nose and under his eyes that are absolutely adorable.

But still....I shake my head and say, Oh, no, no....Heather m'girl you are just trying to like him because he likes you! Which I've done before. You take the feelings of someone else for you, and you turn them into feelings for them, and you get involved BECAUSE they like YOU, not because you necessarily really liked them. But you never really know you've done this, until the relationship ends, and you find that you never really miss them after their gone. I think that's the test of real emotion..."do you miss them after they've gone?"

Cause if you don't....well...I guess you didn't really care that much...or they weren't really a part of your life, because the people you lose in life, are the people that when something funny happens...you think to yourself.."I wish so and so was here....to share that with"...or when you fold your laundry..and you remember how they folded their shirts....or when you drive by McDonald's, and you remember that time you drank coffee on that picnic table out front....shit like that.

We'll probably only ever be friends....but he made me pause...and ask myself the question....and that's something.....

The good news is, I did something nice for someone, and it didn't backfire, IN FACT....because of my act of kindness....my co-worker's friend who's an electrician said he'd come take a look at some mystery electrical stuff here at the house...for FREE.

What goes around...still comes around. I'm glad to see it too. There still is a reward for being kind to people. And that makes me smile....and my faith in human kind remains in tact...for the weekend anyway. :)

Tom Hanks Said:

....in the movie "You've got mail"

that...."The Godfather answers all of life's questions. What should I pack for my summer vacation? "Leave the gun, take the cannoli."

Guys are always referring to the Godfather...frankly, I've not ever seen it...but I HAVE seen every episode of Sex in the City and the Movie...and for men, it's the Godfather, for women, it's Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda. No matter the situation, there's an episode you can reference to guide you in whatever your dilemma is. Your new boyfriend have "funky tasting spunk"...there's an episode for you. If you are addicted to a gay chat site and your name is Rick9+...there's help for you as well....I'm telling you...it's all there..and now handy on your own personal DVD collection.

I was thinking the other day....I'm too fucking nice. Yeah, I said it, I'm too fucking nice.

When put into terms of Sex in the City....I've become a "Skipper"

Skipper is that perpetually "nice guy" who always finishes last. Gets too attached to woman who treat him like shit...

Miranda...dated skipper. And she slept with him, broke up with him and then after every failed actual attempt at a relationship, Miranda would run into skipper somewhere....and she'd be suddenly interested in him again...for awhile....then she'd realize "oh he's skipper and not my type"...and then she'd toss him aside again. This is not a story that Skipper loves to tell....but Miranda would tell it without a twinge of emotion for her behavior...because in her mind, Skipper's not really a factor. But HELLO!!!???!!! Skipper's a person....a person you are sleeping with!! How could he not be a factor? Anyway....

I've become skipper.

How do you balance between being nice and being too nice? Where do you draw the line, and how do you know who to draw the line with and when?

I hate to think that being a bitch is the answer....I never was very good at being a bitch....even when i tried.

I smile too much...it's a dead give away that I'm a poser!...and people FAKING bitchiness get less respect than nice girls. It's sort of like those white guys from the suburbs who pretend their black and from "streets"....

But in an effort to curb and or rein-in this doormat persona I've somehow adopted, I'm going to make an effort to #1 - be more assertive. Say what I mean, and mean what I say. #2 - Be brutally honest, with a emphasis on fairness and politeness. I think you can deliver the truth with an honest sincerity that is like the sugar that helps the medicine go down. #3 - I'm going to have to stop giving a shit about EVERY-THING and EVERY-ONE!! It's exhausting...I can't adopt every stray, I can't befriend every friendless person I cross paths with....no matter how much I think I should.

Some people want to change the world.....I coincidentally seem to think you can change the world with kindness, and by befriending everyone. Giving that guy with no car a ride home every day from work.....listening to that one guy you hooked up with once, go on and on about his ex-girlfriend while deep down...do you really give a shit about this?

So what's the answer? Is the reward from being kind worth the heartbreak, headache and often times backfired good intentions?!

I still say yes. I can't help but think of "do unto others, as you'd like them to do unto you..."

and if i didn't have a car, I'd want someone to give me a ride....if I didn't have any friends, I'd want someone to see the me that was worth befriending...*sighs*....I'm hopeless aren't I? shit! *laughs*

{Me} Hello, my name is skipper...and I'm an nice-a-holic...

I've been sober and cheerful now for 7 years....

Hello Skipper.
{says my imaginary support group peeps}

That which Holds us together, can sometimes hold us back...

Every once in awhile....you meet someone, mostly by chance, two characters collide, and boom....a story begins. But what kind of story will it be? Mystery? Romance? Fantasy? or Sci-Fi?!

There's always intrigue and suspense ... will they or won't they? .... drama .... does he love her? .... does she love him?

In movies and books, everyone lives happily ever after .... in Delphos, well, it ends and someone winds up depressed and living on frozen pizza and diet coke, laying in bed a lot watching WAY too many DVD episodes of Sex in the City....and blowing off dates with hot guys with rippled abs that most girls drool over.

And the thing was, it was all just story I think ... I'm not even sure it was ever real. It felt real to me ... it tasted real ... it had everything from giddy excitement to tears at goodbye. At times it was fiction .... and times it was non.

As a writer, and a lover of the classic story .... whether it be movies, novels .... short stories, I love how the story unfolds before your eyes, you get that insight into some one's character, you feel what they feel, you root for them and await breathlessly for the story to evolve, for that crisis to be averted, problem solved ... of course your two main characters who have been shamelessly flirty the whole time will FINALLY have that big screen kiss .... the kind that makes you realize that you are actually puckering a bit as it happens ... which makes you look kind of stupid, but every time ... you so do it...

I had a story like that once, there was danger...and passion, moral dilemmas, hot steamy bedroom scenes ... Oh, this story had it all ... drugs, money, fame, yeah, it was one for the record books in the history of me .... I always wondered how it would end .... knowing from that very first kiss that it would ... that it had to ... that it was inevitable ....

so you can imagine how difficult it is to write off your favorite character. The person who made what you thought was going to be a short story, into not just a novel, but a series of novels that made the best sellers list three times in as many years.

A world where things that didn't make sense seemed to....where wrong felt so right...and where sharing a cigarette post coital was a seamy but somehow substitute for "I love you"...

As the writer, you try so hard to figure out how to have that perfect ending...do you kill them off, do you make THEM the hero who rides out on a blaze of glory...or do you just put the pencil down. Step away for awhile....and let it go?

My leading male character said to me last week, "I care about you, just not to the degree you'd like" And I didn't know what that meant. I thought about it...and honestly, how could he ever care about me to this magical degree, when I wasn't even sure what the thermostat was set on....fuck, i didn't even know if it was gas heat or electric....come to think of it, WHERE IS the THERMOSTAT? and who's footing the bill for all this hypothetical heating?

The real tragedy here is....I loved him...my character. Not in the way a wife loves a husband, not in a way....you love your new Lexus...he was never an object to me, or a prize to be won.... I loved him like you love a sunset, or the way you love the warm feeling you get when the sun shines on your face. Nobody has a relationship with a sunset, you know it's going to end...yet it's beautiful in it's own right. That's what it's like to love my character. It's just a pleasure to co-exist with him. Watching him drink a cup of coffee was amusing....his wild hair always unruly...the conversations we had, the glances exchanged...they were not just forgotten as soon as they passed...they were moments of cherished time, shared between two people, who were ALWAYS on borrowed time.

He probably thinks I wanted it all....to live happily ever after, like they do in Hollywood and on the pages of the books at the library...I don't know about "Living happily ever after"...but I do know a thing or two about "living"....and when my character jumped off the page and into my life....he brought me back to life, he restored a part of me that I thought had died. In a way, he was kind of my hero...because death by divorce while it's not literal, it is nonetheless a killer of one's soul....one's optimism and hope....I never really thought he'd be what would ultimately fix my broken heart....and maybe he just didn't have the right tools for the job....i mean, he wasn't a cardiologist...he WAS kind of like butterfly bandages though...he held me together long enough to TRY to heal on my own.

Maybe someday I'll know how to end this story....or maybe someday, I'll know how the story ends.....but for now, I'm ripping off the bandages....it's time to see how healed I am.
It's time this leading lady stopped acting like a supporting character in her own story...it's time for a new adventure....old characters' chapters are closing, new characters emerge....and note to self: No more forming emotional attachments to sunsets...cause really, what the fuck, all they do is show up, show off and then sneak off into the night...they don't cuddle and they never spend the night....

In Weird News....

Apparently my house is the Bermuda Triangle of Cell phone Service ....

I have to strategically place my phone in places ... or else, it's complete cell phone silence.

I may have to break down and get a home phone ....

so for those of you who call and don't get me, or text and can't figure out why i don't reply ...

it's not you, it's me...errr..well it's this house...sorry! But even here in cell phone hell....you won't find a shred of buyers remorse...I love it here.

Recession, Depression and Consumer Therapy...

I've been in a bad mood all week...and yes I'm painfully aware that it's only Tuesday .... and when i say painfully, I mean painfully.

See I hurt myself trying to move my furniture by myself out to the garage to paint it this weekend, and I've been a wreck ever since .... then I came to work to find my desk stacked to the ceiling with work, making it look like I'd been off work a month, instead of just for the weekend .... then throw in the pain from the knife that I had to pull out of my back when I checked my blog on Sunday to see that someone going by the name "Reality" decided to leave me a comment saying that I should change the name of my blog to "Random Ridiculous Thoughts of a Chunky Redhead who had THE most annoying voice in the entire world!" .... yeah, that one was a real nice one wasn't it?

I don't know what I do to people to piss them off to the point that they have to take jabs at me in this manner, but whatever....I'm done being depressed about it...and seriously, how much weight can I give someone who throws rocks at me from out of sight...so I have no idea where they are, who they are, or what the fuck their problem is. I can't say I'm sorry to someone for something I don't know I did, to someone who I don't know the identity of.....

Oh, and my check engine light came on this morning....fun!

Anyway, so the point is, this week has sucked so far, that was until I purchased my very own first brand new bedding set. I had saw it while out shopping with my mother this weekend, and I didn't really want to spend the money to buy it, but when i found it online for $20.00 off...well, it seemed too good of a deal to pass up.
Funny how a little purchase can brighten up a otherwise crappy couple days....

It's gorgeous....and it shipped out today, so by week's end, I will have my new bedding, I just re-did my own bedroom furniture which now looks brand new as opposed to the $25.00 crap I bought at a garage sale 5 years ago....and I even know what color of paint I want for the walls now...

things are coming together at the new house....they really are....

*smiles*
